Instant Pot Garlic Green Beans

Instant Pot garlic green beans are a flavorful side dish for any meal. The perfect way to free up a burner on the stove when you’re putting together a big holiday meal!

I love my Instant Pot all the time, but it holds an extra special spot in my heart when the holidays roll around.

Because we have such big gatherings, oven and stove space are at a premium.

So if I can use my Instant Pot to make a side dish and free up a burner, you bet I am all about it.

And these Instant Pot garlic green beans are the perfect way to put the pressure cooker to use.

This recipe results in perfectly cooked beans perfumed with the flavorful savory notes of garlic.

They pair perfectly with any holiday meal or even with a roast chicken or roast beef other times of the year.

Ingredients

To make these you’ll need:

  • Green beans– Fresh beans with the ends trimmed off
  • Garlic– Fresh minced garlic
  • Broth– Chicken or vegetable broth to steam the beans with
  • Butter– Roughly chopped
  • Salt and pepper– To taste

How to Make

These Instant Pot garlic green beans are so easy to make!

Just add the liner to your Instant Pot and put the green beans, broth, and garlic in the liner.

Season the green beans with salt and pepper, to taste, then stir everything together to evenly combine.

Spread the rough chopped pieces of butter evenly on top of the green beans.

Secure the lid on the pot, making sure the valve is sealed.

Pressure cook on low pressure for 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes, carefully open the vent valve for a quick release.

Gently stir the beans, serve warm, and enjoy!

Storing leftovers

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Reheat them in the microwave until warmed through.

Tips and Tricks

  • Be sure to perform a quick release and not a natural release, otherwise the beans will soften too much and become mushy.
  • You can adjust the amount of garlic to suit your taste.
  • No broth? You could use water but you’ll likely need more salt!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh green beans ends trimmed
  • 3 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp butter roughly chopped
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Add the liner to your Instant Pot then add the green beans, broth, and garlic to it. Season with salt and pepper, to taste, then stir everything together to evenly combine.
