Are you like me in that you overshoot how much turkey to make each and every year?

I can’t help it.

We always wind up with so much leftover.

And while I’ll happily eat turkey sandwiches for days, my boys are a bit pickier so I try to use up my leftovers in ways that keep them feeling fresh.

This turkey salad recipe does just that- turns leftover turkey into a savory, creamy salad that breathes new life into your holiday leftovers.

Ingredients

To make this you’ll need:

  • Turkey– Chopped leftover turkey
  • Veggies– Celery and red onion both finely diced
  • Mayo– Real mayo and not mayonnaise style dressing.
  • Lemon juice– For a bit of brightness
  • Dijon mustard– You could sub stone ground mustard if you prefer.
  • Seasoning– Dried dill and salt and pepper to taste.

How to Make

To make this, just add all of the ingredients to a large mixing bowl.

Then, stir everything together until it’s all evenly combined.

Serve and enjoy!

Storing leftovers

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.

How long it stays good depends on when you make this salad.

Turkey stays safe to eat for 3 to 4 days after cooking it.

Tips and Tricks

  • For a festive touch, stir in dried cranberries or even a tablespoon or two of leftover cranberry sauce
  • Great on bread, toast, or croissants as sandwiches, or paired with crackers as a dip!
  • Not a fan of onions or celery? That’s fine. Just skip them.
  • Want a bit more of a crunch? Add some chopped walnuts or pecans.
