Mini goat cheese balls are an easy to make, elegant appetizer. Your guests will never know you didn’t spend a ton of time and energy making these pretty, tasty bites!
When people come over, my Southern hospitality takes over and I need to put something out.
Most of the time, I keep our snacks and appetizers very casual, but if it’s a special occasion or holiday, I need to fancy it up.
But fancy doesn’t have to mean hard with these mini goat cheese balls.
Nope!
With only a handful of ingredients and almost no prep, these come together in no time at all!
Ingredients
To make these you’ll need:
- Goat cheese– Can’t make goat cheese balls without goat cheese of course! Let it soften to room temperature first!
- Cream cheese– Softened to room temperature
- Seasonings– Thinly sliced green onions, finely chopped fresh parsley, and ground black pepper
- Croutons– Go for garlic flavored.
- Pretzel sticks
How to Make
These goat cheese balls are so easy to make!
Just the softened goat cheese, softened cream cheese, green onions, one tablespoon of the chopped parsley, and the freshly ground black pepper to a large bowl and whip everything together with a hand mixer until it’s smooth.
Then scoop out 12 even scoops of the mixture using a small cookie dough scoop.
Roll each scoop individually, between clean hands, into a ball.
Then transfer the ball to a clean sheet or parchment paper.
At this point, add the croutons to a blender or food processor and pulse until they’re finely ground.
Mix the ground croutons and the rest of the parsley together in a small mixing bowl.
Roll one cheese ball at a time into the bowl of seasoned bread crumbs to evenly coat it.
Place the mini cheese ball onto a waiting serving tray. Repeat until all the mini cheese balls are coated and on the serving tray.
Stick a pretzel stick into the top center of each mini goat cheese ball.
Serve and enjoy!
Can I make goat cheese balls ahead of time?
Yes! You can make them a day in advance.
Just skip putting the pretzel sticks in them and store them tightly covered in the fridge.
Then, take them out of the fridge to let them soften slightly and add the pretzel stick.
Serve and enjoy!
Storing Leftovers
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
