S’mores are a perpetual favorite.

All the sons love them, and so do I.

The delicious bars have all the flavors you know and love in an easy, no bake treat.

Ingredients

To make these you’ll need:

  • Butter– Salted
  • Marshmallows– I recommend mini marshmallows here.
  • Cereal– Golden Grahams or another similar cereal.
  • Chocolate chips– Mini ones for texture. Milk chocolate for most authentic taste.

How to Make

Making s’mores cereal bars is basically like making Rice Krispie treats- super easy!

To do it, lightly spray a 9×13″ baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and then line the greased tray with parchment paper.

Set the prepared pan aside.

Heat the butter in a medium sized pot over medium low heat, just until melted.

Stir the marshmallows into the melted butter until they’re completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

Remove the pot from heat.

Spray a large mixing bowl with nonstick cooking spray.

Add the cereal to it, and then pour the marshmallow mixture out over top.

Spray a spatula with nonstick cooking spray, and use it to stir the mixture together until all the cereal’s evenly coated in the marshmallow.

Fold in half of the chocolate chips until evenly combined.

Spread the mixture out into the prepared pan in an even layer.

Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips evenly out overtop.

Let the cereal bars set for until they are firm.

Slice into squares, serve, and enjoy!

Flavor Variations

As written, this recipe will give you s’mores cereal bars with the most traditional s’more flavor.

But, part of the fun of making your own treats is being able to vary the flavor to your liking.

Some of our favorite variations include:

  • Using white chocolate chips in place of milk chocolate chips.
  • For a chocolate lover’s version, use dark, milk, and white chocolate chips in the recipe.
  • Try a different cereal! Honey Chex, Chocolate Chex, or even Cinnamon Chex all would be delicious as would Cinnamon Toast Crunch or French Toast Crunch.

Storing

Store these cereal bars in an air tight container on the counter for up to a week.

Tips and Tricks

  • You don’t have to spray the dish with cooking spray before lining it with parchment paper, but I recommend this step since it will help keep the liner in place while spreading the very sticky mixture out.
  • If you plan to use your hands to spread the cereal bars out in the pan, spray them with nonstick spray first!
  • Don’t want to use your stove? No problem! Melt the butter in a large microwave safe bowl in the microwave. Then add the marshmallows and microwave them until they puff up. Then stir the mixture together.
