This spooky Halloween dip is a 15 minute dessert that’s perfect party food any ghoul or goblin will enjoy. It’s a festive spin on marshmallow cream cheese fruit dip that makes the perfect centerpiece for your October dessert table.
My kids get excited for every holiday. They love the excitement, the decorations, and especially the food.
I’m a sucker for any chance to make a themed dish, and Halloween is one of my favorite excuses.
This spooky Halloween dip is easy to whip up in under 20 minutes, and is perfect for a simple festive dessert at home or for taking to parties with friends.
Ingredients Needed
Only a couple of ingredients make up this delicious dessert dip.
You’ll need:
- Marshmallow Fluff – This is also often called marshmallow creme.
- Cream Cheese – I use the plain old original kind, but neufchatel will also work.
- Food Coloring – We used green, but you could also use orange or purple instead.
- Edible Candy Eyes – These can be found in the cake decorating aisle of your grocery store.
Once you’ve got all the ingredients together, you’re ready to whip up your Halloween dessert.
How To Make
Start by adding the marshmallow fluff and softened cream cheese to a large mixing bowl, then whip them together until they’re evenly combined and the mixture’s smooth and fluffy.
Add 5-10 drops of your food coloring to the marshmallow cream mixture, stirring until evenly incorporated. Make sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl and the bottom so you don’t miss a hidden pocket of white.
Transfer the Halloween dessert dip to a serving dish or bowl.
Top with the edible candy eyes, and serve with an assortment of dipping options.
Dipping Options
Whenever I make a dip, especially for holidays or parties, I purposely serve them with a varied assortment of different dipping options.
This let’s guests choose for themselves their favorites, and creates different flavor profiles so the same dip isn’t as boring.
Some of our favorites to serve with this marshmallow cream cheese dip include:
- Pretzels
- Sliced Apples
- Nilla Wafers
- Strawberries
- Oreo Cookies
- Grapes
- Almonds and/or Pecans
You can use whatever combination you have on hand, or just whatever you enjoy.
How To Store Marshmallow Cream Cheese Dip
Extra dip can be stored in an airtight container and refrigerated for up to 5 days.
Can I Make This Ahead Of Time?
Yes! I actually like to make this dip about 24 hours ahead of time so that it has a chance to really chill and thicken before serving.
Don’t add the candy eyes until just before serving if making it ahead of time.
Where Is Marshmallow Fluff In The Grocery Store?
If you aren’t familiar with the product, it could prove harder to find.
Marshmallow fluff, or marshmallow creme as it’s often called, is typically located in the baking section near the pie crusts.
