Breakfast is generally not my jam.

At least not first thing in the morning.

Now, I could eat pancakes or eggs pretty much any time, but I don’t enjoy making anything before I drink my coffee.

So I am always on the lookout for easy meals to feed my crew in the morning.

These breakfast banana splits fit that bill!

I only need to slice a banana or two in half and spoon on some toppings.

Mornings made easy!

Ingredients

To make these you’ll need:

an overhead image showing the measured ingredients necessary to make breakfast banana splits

  • Bananas– Slice them in half lengthwise like you would for a dessert banana split.
  • Greek yogurt– I use plain Greek yogurt, but really any fruit flavored Greek yogurt would work.
  • Jam– Both strawberry and blueberry jam, or whatever your favorite jam flavors are. Raspberry would be wonderful!
  • Peanut butter– Your favorite variety.
  • Whipped cream– Because who doesn’t want some whipped cream with breakfast?
  • Toppings– Mixed berries, granola, crushed pecans, sprinkles and maraschino cherries or anything else you like!

How to Make

Breakfast banana splits are so easy to make as they don’t really need any cooking and minimal chopping!

To do it, peel and slice the bananas lengthwise.

Arrange 2 banana halves on one plate, end to end so it creates a circular well in the middle.

Can I make these ahead of time?

I don’t recommend meal prepping these.

The bananas will get kind of sad and they won’t hold up super well in the fridge.

Tips and Tricks

  • Customize this by using your favorite berries and jams.
  • You don’t have to use all the same flavor of yogurt. If you want variety, use a scoop of vanilla and then 2 scoops of different fruit flavors.
  • While the flavor doesn’t matter as much, make sure you are using Greek yogurt. The thicker texture will keep the yogurt scoops more together.
