How to Make

This is as close to a dump and go dinner as it gets!

To make this chicken broccoli alfredo, trim the chicken breasts of any excess fat, and then season them with salt and pepper on both sides.

Put the prepared chicken in the bowl of the slow cooker.

Then, pour the alfredo sauce out over the chicken and add the broccoli to the slow cooker in an even layer.

Sprinkle the seasonings evenly out over top.

Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.

About 20 minutes before you want to serve this, cook the pasta according to the package instructions for ‘al dente’.

Carefully transfer the chicken to a cutting board using tongs and roughly shred or chop it.

Then stir the shredded or chopped chicken back into the slow cooker.

Add the cooked, drained pasta to the bowl of the slow cooker and stir gently.

Spoon into bowls or onto plates to serve.

Top with Parmesan cheese, if using, and enjoy!

What are the best seasonings to add to Alfredo?

Honestly, the best Alfredo is simple and features just garlic and salt and pepper as seasoning.

If you’d like to add more flavors to this, any of your Italian seasonings like dried basil, oregano, or parsley would work in this.

You could also sprinkle on a little crushed red pepper for some heat.

Storing leftovers

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Be aware that if you store leftover pasta with the alfredo sauce, the pasta may absorb some of the sauce.

If that happens, stir in a little heavy cream or half and half before you reheat it.

Tips and Tricks

  • Don’t stir the pasta into the crock pot too vigorously. You will crush the broccoli.
  • Don’t have penne? You could use fettucine or any other thicker pasta.
  • You could add more veggies into this mix with some sliced mushrooms.
