Just look at these Easter bunny cinnamon rolls.
They’re the perfect sweet treat to celebrate with whether it’s for an easy breakfast or a simple dessert.
Ingredients Needed
- Cinnamon Rolls – One can Pillsbury Grands cinnamon buns WITH icing. You’ll need the 17.5 ounce, 5 count can.
- Sprinkles – Any sprinkles will do, but I highly recommend using Easter or Spring themed ones for a fun & festive touch.
How To Make
Making this super cute snack is easier than you’d think.
Start by lining a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Set that aside, and open your can of cinnamon rolls.
Remove the frosting cup and separate the biscuits, laying them out flat on the parchment paper lined baking sheet.
Starting at the outermost end, peel roughly four inches of cinnamon roll back. Don’t unroll anymore than that.
Fold this piece into two ear shapes, pinching them slightly in the middle.
Bake the Easter bunny cinnamon rolls at 350F for 15 minutes.
Halfway through the bake time, check on the rolls.
At this point they will have puffed up significantly.
If any of the ‘bunny’ has become distorted, carefully use the back of a spoon to gently push the hot pastry back into place.
Continue baking until done.
Using a spatula, carefully transfer the baked bunny buns to a cooling wrack.
Allow them to rest and cool completely before frosting.
You can frost these Easter bunny cinnamon rolls however you like.
My kids love to just spread or spoon on the frosting.
If I’m making it for them, I scrape the icing out of the cup and into a piping bag. A ziplocking bag will work too.
Then I snip off a corner and pipe it on, including one larger dollop in the center to resemble a fluffy cottontail.
Top with sprinkles and enjoy!
TIPS & TRICKS
- Brand isn’t 100 % necessary, but make sure you’re using the proper size and count. Smaller rolls won’t have enough dough to make the proper bunny ears.
- Make sure the cinnamon rolls have cooled completely before attempting to frost them. Do NOT skip this step. If you ice the rolls while hot it will just melt and run off the sides. It will still taste great, but won’t look pretty.
- Transfer the canned icing to a piping bag (or ziplock), it will make it so much easier to drizzle on!
- For an extra touch, you can use m&m candies to make a face and ‘edible’ Easter grass to make whiskers.
