Mason Jar Ice Cream
Mason jar ice cream uses pudding mix to make a fun, super creamy dessert with just a few ingredients. Get the kids involved and shake up a good time and sweet frozen treat this summer!

It doesn’t matter how many activities you plan with the kids when they are out of school on summer break.
Eventually a rainy day will come along and they will be bored.
And what better boredom buster than having the kids help you shake up a sweet treat?
They’ll love making mason jar ice cream!
It’s a fun way to shake things up- literally.

Because there’s no ice cream maker needed, the kids will have to work out all of their excess energery shaking the mason jars.
And the result?
A super creamy treat thanks to the pudding mix that the kids will love.
They’ll love it even more since you can customize it easily to make your favorite flavors without any trouble at all.
Ingredients
To make this you’ll need:

- Sugar– Granulated.
- Pudding mix– Your favorite 3 flavors of instant pudding mix. We used vanilla, chocolate, and butterscotch.
- Salt– To both balance the sweet and help it freeze.
- Heavy cream– You can’t substitute this for anything else!
You’ll also need 3 10 ounce mason jars.
How to Make
Making mason jar ice cream is easy!

Just add 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of one of the pudding mixes, a pinch of salt to each of the 3 mason jars.

Then add ¾ cup heavy cream to each jar.
Give each jar a good stir to combine.

Screw the lids on and get the kids to shake each jar until the mixture thickens.
Freeze the jars for 3 hours, shaking each hour.

Serve when it reaches the consistency of soft serve ice cream.
Enjoy!

Storing
You can store mason jar ice cream in the tightly sealed jars for up to 2 weeks in the freezer.
Keep in mind if you do store it longer than the 3 hours in the recipe, it will likely freeze solid so you’ll want to let it sit on the counter for about 10 minutes before you serve it.
