Peanut Butter Ramen Recipe

This peanut butter ramen recipe is a budget friendly way to upgrade a package of noodles. These ramen noodles ditch the seasoning packets in favor of a blend a sweet, savory, and spicy peanut sauce and your choice of toppings!

The flavor packets that come with the noodles are fine but if you are looking to add some inexpensive variety to your meals, you have to try these peanut butter ramen noodles.

They are an instant upgrade to the college kid staple and so easy to make.

It requires no cooking skills whatsoever and guarantees a yummy and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

To make this you’ll need:

  • Ramen noodles– 3 three ounce packages of instant ramen noodles. Discard the seasoning packets.
  • Peanut butter– Use your favorite creamy peanut butter.
  • Honey
  • Soy sauce
  • Sriracha– The amount is a suggestion for mildly spicy noodles. Adjust it up or down to your liking.
  • Optional garnishes– Chopped or crushed peanuts, lime wedges, chicken, veggies, etc.

How to Make

This peanut butter ramen is one of the easiest recipes you’ll ever make and perfect for beginners!

To make it, just cook the ramen according to the instructions on the package.

Drain the ramen, reserving a half cup of the cooking water.

Then stir the peanut butter, honey, soy sauce, and sriracha together until the mixture is combined.

Stir in the reserved pasta water to thin the sauce out.

Pour the sauce over the ramen noodles and stir it until combined.

Serve with your favorite garnishes and toppings.

Topping Ideas

These noodles are delicious as is but you could definitely fill them out more if you want by topping them with:

  • shredded rotisserie chicken
  • steamed veggies
  • raw rainbow slaw style veggies
  • cooked shrimp
  • cilantro
  • peanuts
  • lime wedges
  • green onions

Storing Leftovers

These are best enjoyed right after you make them but if you have leftovers store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Microwave them until warmed through before eating the leftovers.

Tips and Tricks

  • Discard the seasoning packets that come with the noodles. You will not use them in this recipe.
  • Be careful not to overcook the ramen noodles. They have a tendency to go from cooked to mushy very quickly.
  • In a pinch you could use extra packets of soy sauce and honey that come along with takeout, etc.

Ingredients

  • 3 3 oz pkgs instant ramen noodles seasoning packets discarded
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sriracha
  • toppings for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions for al dente, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water and draining the rest.
    3 3 oz pkgs instant ramen noodles
  • In a small bowl combine the peanut butter, honey, soy sauce, and sriracha until the mixture's smooth. Add the reserved pasta water to the mixture, stirring until evenly incorporated into a thin sauce.
    1/4 cup creamy peanut butter, 2 tbsp honey, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sriracha
  • Pour the sauce over the hot, drained noodles and stir together to evenly combine.
  • Serve with your favorite garnishes, and enjoy!
