Topping Ideas and Serving Suggestions

Air fryer baked sweet potatoes are delicious on their own or with the usual toppings like butter, salt and pepper or a sprinkle of cinnamon and brown sugar.

You can also use them to make a baked sweet potato bar situation and serve them with toppings like:

  • shredded cheese
  • black beans
  • pulled pork or chicken
  • taco meat
  • sour cream

Tips and Tricks

  • Do NOT skip the step of poking holes into the sweet potatoes. This allows steam to escape while they cook, which prevents them from exploding.
  • If the sweet potatoes aren’t done after 25 to 30 minutes, let them keep cooking in 2 to 3 minute intervals until they are.
  • Do not skip letting the sweet potatoes rest. They need this time to cool so you can safely handle them.
