Creamy angel chicken is one of those slow cooker recipes that really delivers the best in cozy comfort.
The cream cheese and cream of chicken based sauce is really the star here, rich and comforting without requiring a lot of effort.
Italian dressing seasoning adds so much flavor without needing a long list of spices.
Get it going earlier in the day and all you need to do is boil some pasta and dinner is done!

To make this you’ll need:
- Oil– Canola oil
- Chicken breasts– Boneless, skinless breasts trimmed of extra fat
- Salt and pepper– To taste
- Cream cheese– Softened to room temperature
- Butter– Softened
- Cream of chicken soup– A 10.5 ounce can. You could also use cream of mushroom or even cream of celery if that’s what’s in your pantry.
- Garlic– Pressed or minced
- Chicken broth– You can also use stock
- Dressing mix– a .7 ounce packet of Italian dressing mix
- Pasta– A box of angel hair cooked according to the package directions to al dente
- Cheese– Shredded parmesan for garnish

How to Make
This slow cooker creamy angel chicken is so easy to make!
Just heat the oil in a cast iron skillet set over medium high heat, making sure the oil coats the pan.
Season the chicken on both sides with salt and pepper.
Sear the chicken in the hot skillet on both sides, just until golden brown on each side or roughly 3 minutes per side.
At this point, take the skillet off the heat and set it aside.
Cream the softened cream cheese and butter together in a mixing bowl until evenly combined.
Stir in the remaining ingredients, except the pasta and Parmesan.
Put the seared chicken in the bowl of a slow cooker and then pour the sauce evenly out overtop.
Cover and cook on LOW for 2 1/2 – 3 hours.
Serve warm over top the cooked pasta, with a sprinkle of Parmesan for garnish, and enjoy!

Storing Leftovers
Store the chicken in the fridge in an airtight container or in the covered bowl of your slow cooker.
Reheat in the slow cooker or the microwave until warmed through.
I recommend making fresh pasta since stored angel hair tends to get clumpy.

Tips and Tricks
- There’s always room to add as much garlic as your heart desires. Adjust the amount to suit your taste.
- You can use other kinds of pasta if your prefer.
- Many recipes make this with cream of mushroom soup instead of cream of chicken and can use that if you prefer. You can also add in some sliced baby bella mushrooms if you’d like.
- Don’t skip searing the chicken. Not only does it reduce the slow cook time, it also locks in flavor and gives the chicken a beautiful and delicious crust.
