With 4 kids, our lives are busy, busy, busy!

There’s always a game, a meeting, a lesson or something that we are running late to.

That doesn’t leave a lot of time for dinner.

On our busiest of days, I throw beer brats into the air fryer and call it a day.

Ingredients

To make these you need:

  • Beer brats– You could swap Italian sausages for the brats if you prefer.
  • Hot dog buns– You could use another long roll or bun if you prefer.

How to Make

To make beer brats in the air fryer, just add the uncooked brats to the basket of your air fryer so they are not touching.

Air fry them at 400 for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Once they are cooked through, use a pair of tongs to remove them and put each one in a waiting bun.

Let them rest 1-2 minutes before serving.

Top them and enjoy!

Topping Ideas

We often keep things simple and serve them with just mustard and ketchup.

However you can dress them up anyway you want. Some good topping ideas include:

  • relish
  • sauerkraut
  • onion

Do you need to boil brats before air frying?

Nope!

Just put them in the air fryer and you are good to go!

Can I make these ahead of time?

Yes, absolutely!

In fact, this recipe is so easy that on Sunday I will often make two batches, one for dinner and the other to store for an easy lunch or dinner.

Storing Leftovers

Store leftover brats in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Tips and Tricks

  • Different air fryers may vary on times, so to check and verify your brats are done test the temperature. The brats are cooked through when they have an internal temp of 160 degrees.
  • Don’t overcrowd your basket, depending on the size of your air fryer you may need to cook them in two batches.
  • Flipping halfway through isn’t 100% mandatory, but is recommended as it helps them cook more evenly.
