Slow Cooker Chicken Cordon Bleu
Slow cooker chicken cordon bleu is an easy, comforting dinner that combines tender chicken, savory ham, melty Swiss cheese, and a rich creamy sauce. This meal is perfect for busy nights since it couldn’t be easier to make thanks to the slow cooker and three shortcut ingredients!

Chicken cordon bleu is a popular dish where thin chicken breasts rolled around Swiss cheese and ham filling get breaded, fried and slathered in cream sauce.
In French, the name roughly means “blue ribbon chicken.”
So no wonder it feels fancy and traditional versions are more than I want to tackle on a weeknight.
That’s where this slow cooker version comes in, because you get all those classic flavors without having to bread, fry, or stand over the stove.

And it still tastes like chicken that would win a blue ribbon!
The slow cooker version adds a layer of stuffing to the mix for a complete dinner.
Plus it makes the chicken super tender and you get layers of savory ham and melty Swiss cheese and rich, creamy sauce.
The result is a perfect bite with much less effort.

Ingredients
To make this you’ll need:
- Condensed soup– 2 10.5 ounce cans. I suggest one of cream of celery soup and one of cream of chicken. But you can mix and match the condensed soup based on what you have on hand and like. Any combination of cream of chicken, cream of celery, cream of mushroom, and/or cream of broccoli would all be delicious.
- Milk– Whole milk will give you the richest results.
- Salt and pepper– To taste
- Chicken– Boneless, skinless breasts, trimmed of fat.
- Ham– Sliced deli ham.
- Swiss cheese– Sliced.
- Stuffing mix– A 6 ounce box of boxed chicken stuffing mix.
- Butter– Melted

How to Make
This slow cooker chicken cordon bleu is so easy to make!
Just whisk together both soups, milk, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl until everything is evenly combined.
Spread out just enough of the soup mixture into the bowl of your slow cooker so it covers the bottom.
Add the chicken to the slow cooker, then top it with a layer of the sliced ham followed by the sliced Swiss cheese.
Pour the rest of the soup mixture evenly out overtop of the prepared chicken.
Top the soup layer with the stuffing mix spread evenly out overtop.
Pour the melted butter evenly out overtop the stuffing mix.
Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours, or HIGH for 4.
Serve warm and enjoy!

Storing Leftovers
Let the chicken cordon bleu cool first.
Store the leftovers in the fridge in the covered bowl of your slow cooker or in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
Reheat either in the slow cooker until warmed through or in the microwave until warm.

Tips and Tricks
- Don’t use too much salt. There is salt in the soup, stuffing, and ham.
- The sauce will thicken as it cools. It may thicken a lot in the fridge. If you find it has thickened too much in the fridge, thin it with a little milk.
- You don’t need a side dish with it since you are using stuffing mix in the dish but it does pair nicely with any steamed veggie or good rolls for enjoying every last bit of the sauce.
